Missed Olympic Bronze by inches. India salutes Aditi Ashok, the Golfer, who was affected by Covid19.

Yes, you heard it right. Aditi Ashok 23 year old from India finishes 4th in Women's Golf at Tokyo Olympics-2020. Hailing from Jamakhandi, a small town in Bagalokote District of North Karnataka, Aditi's supportive parents Pandit Gudlamani Ashok and Gudlamani Maheshwari always assisted as her caddie on the field, where the biggest assets in Aditi's career, as the whole nation watched the final round and gave her a big salute.


Aditi, a Child Prodigy

This Professional Golfer came into the limelight when she has represented India as the youngest golfer at Rio Olympics-2016 as an 18-year-old girl. She started playing golf at the age of 5 and won the first title at the age of 9. The turning point in her career was when she turned into a Pro on 1st January 2016 at the age of 18.


2016, an year to remember

Aditi graduated from Frank Antony Public School Bengaluru in the year 2016 but not before winning Lalla Aicha Tour School and securing her Ladies European tour card for the season 2016. This win made her the Youngest ever Winner of a Q-School international tour.

In the same year, Aditi won Hero WOmen's Indian Open, Ladies European Tour, and Qatar Ladies Open. This ace Golfer was named Rookie of the Year and got the attention of the nation when she made it into the Frontpage of the Times of India newspaper.


Ranked 200 and made into the final round in 2nd Place

Aditi Ashok was ranked 200 when she began her round 1 of Women's Golf at Kasumigaseki Country Club, in Saitama. She challenged the top-ranked players like Nelly Korda, Inami Mone, Lydia Ko, Hannah Green, and several others. Where she got the better of Hannah Green from Australia but missed the 18th hole by inches on par 3.


Aditi was  affected by Covid19 in the year 2020 and admitted that she had lost a few distance during the course of the game.

There was a huge appreciation from people all around the country to yet another female sportstar from India, who was awarded with the Prestigious Arjuna Award in the year 2020. Several celebrities and leaders applauded her on this huge achievement including the Honourable Prime Minister Shri.Narendra Modi. 

Yet another fourth-place finish by Indian athletes in Tokyo2020 after the Women's hockey team and Wrestler Deepak Punia missing out on the podium finish by a whisker.We are proud of you Aditi and expecting a bigger one at Paris2024.
